Born into a fourth generation of Hawaiian musicians, it is no surprise that Sam Kapu III has been successful in continuing the musical legacy of his family. Sam and Aunwind Ritual performs 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Banyan Court; Lawrence Kidder performs at the Beach Bar 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Born into a fourth generation of Hawaiian musicians, it is no surprise that Sam Kapu III has been successful in continuing the musical legacy of his family. Kapu, who began singing and playing the ukulele at the young age of seven, is well known for his upbeat, contemporary Hawaiian tunes. His first album “Sam Kapu III”, released on Bluewater Records, gained notoriety when it was nominated for two Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in 1994, “Best New Artist of the Year” and “Best Contemporary Album of the Year”. Kapu’s latest CD “Lineage,” which pays homage to his very talented family, was nominated for “Best Hawaiian Album of the Year” for the 2003 Hawaii music awards. The trio performs at the Banyan Court Wednesdays 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Lawrence Kidder performs at the Beach Bar 8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Enjoy the sweet, blended harmonies of Pa`ahana, featuring Douglas Po`oloa Tolentino on ukulele and vocals and Pakala Fernandes on bass and vocals. Together they are reminiscent of nostalgic, old Hawaii. Devoted to perfecting the art of Hawaiian music, Pa`ahana placed first in the 1996 "Ka Himeni Ana" Hawaiian acoustic music competition.

Nohelani Cypriano has traveled the world sharing Hawaiian contemporary music as a vocalist, keyboard player and composer. She has recorded 12 CDs and has received Na Hoku Hanahano awards for "Best Female Vocalist" and "Contemporary Album of the Year," as well as Hawaii Music Awards' "Entertainers of the Year" with a quartet of female vocalists called the "Local Divas." Her versatile repertoire of music includes Top 40 hits, jazz, and contemporary and traditional Hawaiian music. Nohelani performs at the Banyan Court.
