 Toni earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii, double majoring in Elementary Education and Communications while working her way through school as a banquet waitress at the Kahala Hilton. Planning on a future as a teacher, fate intervened as the school system at the time was saturated and no teaching positions were available.
Toni continued to work in the banquet department, eventually moving up to the position of Banquet Captain. Stepping into management, she became the Assistant Banquet Manager at the Ala Moana Hotel and was rapidly promoted to Banquet Manager shortly thereafter.
Toni initially joined the Moana Surfrider team as the Banquet Manager. Eventually deciding she wanted to meet and work with our guests from the initial planning stage, Toni moved into the Catering office, where she has been for the last 14 years.
Education continues to play an important role in Toni's professional development in the field of catered cuisine and beverage. She successfully attained the industry-recognized qualification of Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) in 1998.
Toni is an active member of the Hawaii chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) and serves as the Treasurer on its Board of Directors.
Toni considers it "an honor to play a role in someone's special day". As every event is unique, she feels it is her mission to deliver excellence to our guests and create for them a true "Moana Memory".
